Mobile Infantry Recon Mech IV by 3DPORTFOLIO Mobile Infantry Recon Mech IV by 3DPORTFOLIO
Hi floks,

It is the one that Carnivor and me buildup some month ago.
I also want to create a picture with it, like Carnivor allready did in this thread at SciFi-Meshes [link] but I want a bit more realistic. I donīt want to say that the Carnivorīs picture is not very good or great, but I think it looks a bit to CGI to me. So I will give it a try to make it better.

Some guys criticized the "glass-armor" at the legs, but the mech is also designed to walk to the half under water, in some deep swamps or other very dirty waters (like those in Avatar) to protect the "hydraulic systems", so the "plexiglass-armor" is indeed necessary. The Armor is not designed to defend from rockets or bullets.

So here is the first textured version of the mech, I hope youīll like it and you can see in which direction I want it to roll...

Great looking model. Nice work on the textures and the detail. Just need some background to make it convincing.

very cool, where do you get your high quality texture maps? and what program do you use for modeling?

THXs, I use C4D, and Vray.
These are no textures, for all parts I use shaders.

I think he mean (external) textures used in shader diffuse/reflection/bumbp/etc... slots. Or you create all materials by procedural texture inside C4D?
